New Pics for a New Year

Thursday, January 1, 2009

Well, it's 1:30 am and I'm quite exhausted, but I wanted to take a moment to share the new pictures I received of G today. I didn't post them earlier because I was holding out one last day of hope that our agency would call with LOA news before the end of 2008, but it was not to be. So, I'll joyfully share pics of my precious son now, but the LOA news will have to come another day.

2008 was difficult and certainly not what I expected it to be, but we were blessed nonetheless. There have been many struggles and tears, but also MANY more things to be thankful for...I haven't forgotten that! God is good and even if He never did another thing in my favor, his gift of salvation is worthy of praise and a gift and a blessing I don't deserve. I trust, however, that He WILL continue what He started with this adoption journey and that He WILL work in our favor and that when all is said and done, the painful extra months of waiting will be forgotten much like the intensity of labor pains seem to fade as soon as that blessed bundle arrives. (A broken tailbone is remembered a little longer, however, let me tell ya!)

Anyway, I pray that you too can look back on 2008 and see more blessing than pain and that you can look forward to 2009 as a year of the Lord's favor.
Much love, D

Love those pic's he is just so cute....can't wait..I just read your mammoth email as you called it...I enjoyed it so much and I am so excited for you. I remember GOTCHA day as the biggest highlight of my life. My baby was handed to me and I couldn't believe she was finally here and that I could really leave with her..she was really mine! You will be so overwhelmed with Joy! Then all the fun family stuff begins. We are already praying for safe travels as well as your funds coming in.

I love the pictures! I know that 2008 was a year of pain and joy... I also know that 2009 will bring both, but always with the LOVE of our Heavenly Father... you will not walk alone through these days! I long with you for the day that we get to see this little guy in the arms of his parents!
    Love you guys!
